DenTek Oral Care donates oral care products for kids in need on February 2
MARYVILLE, Tenn. - February 2, 2007, is nationally recognized by the American Dental Association as the 5th annual Give Kids a Smile Day (GKAS), a wake-up call regarding the poor state of pediatric dental care across America. For the first Friday every February, National Children's Dental Health Month, dentists and hygienists all across the county donate their time and expertise to help kids in need.
This year, DenTek Oral Care, a leading oral care company, is donating thousands of Fun Flossers for GKAS programs occurring across the country. Fun Flossers are colorful shaped flossers with Fluoride, which help kids maintain a healthy smile between dentist visits.
"It's important to teach kids at an early age that brushing and flossing teeth daily will provide them with a long-lasting healthy smile," said John Jansheski, CEO of DenTek Oral Care. "DenTek's Fun Flossers make flossing easy and are small enough to fit in a child's mouth."
Children as young as preschoolers suffer from tooth decay due to lack of professional and personal dental care. The National Maternal Child Oral Health Resource Center cites oral health as the most prevalent, unmet health care need among children and adolescents. Thanks to the time and products donated by dentists, hygienists and oral care companies, GKAS is able to make a difference in bettering the state of oral care nationwide.
