tartar: A hardened yellow or brown mineral deposit from un-removed plaque; also called calculus.

temporary filling: temporary fillings are just that. They are not meant to last. Usually, they fall out, fracture or wear out within a month or two. Temporary fillings seal the tooth, protecting the pulp from bacteria and reducing sensitivity.

thrush: a fungal infection that likes moist spots that my be chafed or sore (such as under poorly fitting dentures). If you think you have thrush speak to your dentist or doctor.

TMJ: temporomandibular joint (disorder). A problem with the joint that connects the lower jaw with the skull. Typically associated with a pop and pain in the joint.
